| home > grind | latest addition: summer camp promo video for northwest youth folks [linky] |
| umm... yeah... this stuff is really outdated... the most recent junk here is circa spring 2005. but i guess that beats most of the other pages here - like the roadtrip '04 junk.
other random stuff i've been working on: direct mail postcard for the lake stevens church [10k were sent out in 2 batches], 20k quarter-page "touch cards" [about 18k were inserted into the lake stevens journal this week], and a b/w ad [also for the journal]... plus a temporary website for the church until we've got more content to play with... there's also a windoze media video there of a message series intro [ran outta time to finish "polishing" it tho' - will try to tweak it a bit before we show it again]. i've been working on some promo stuff for a children's conference coming up this spring. here's an audio-less specie of the promo video [many thanks to brad & chris of indikator for permitting us to use their track!]. over to the right is a miniature version of the "touch cards" for the event; said cards are CD-insert size, and doubled as the cover for the promo DVDs that were sent to all the churches in our district with kids' ministry stuff going on... |

| this fall has proven to be quite hectic... with the busiest chunks hitting the first half of october. i did vj-ish background loops for both the northwest youth conference & the oregon district youth conference this year.
i've done similar stuff at overlake for the past 2 northwest youth conferences, but this time around we went a bit crazier. the big 30' screen and 2 smaller side stage screens were sent a hi-res signal via a spiffy switcher [a compass 2 from FSR]. i had also burnt truckloads of content onto DVD-Rs for sending loops to the outside screens [overlake's built-in 20-footers]; one of our youth interns ran that mixer--great joerb there, gordy! this was my first time doing visuals down at the oregon youth conference. that was lots of fun... kutless and some other bands rocked the house, yo! the last weekend of september, the northwest women's conference was at our church, so that was kinda time-consuming as well... other random stuff i've been working on: |
here are a few of the loops i put together for the northwest youth conference. most of these loops incorporate the "now" logo and play off of the water droplet/ripple elements that were prominent in the opener video clip. i also made some loops that match the look and vibe of the brochure and other promo items, but those aren't handy right now.

i went on a roadtrip along the west coast this summer - drove along highway 101 and 1 most of the way down. click on stir, puree or whip to find out more about the journey down... or mix to see a partial soundtrack... or blend to learn of the voyage home. |

| in early august, i went to austin, texas, where i was working with dc productions on the video stuff for the national assemblies of god fine arts festival. most of my involvement there revolved around the friday celebration service--i whipped up all of the title loops and bumpers for the 40+ categories that were shown on the 16x9 screen that was center stage, hanging between two lighting truss..es. the clips combined the event logo and color scheme with some elements from editor's toolkit [digital juice], all whipped-up in after effects with a little dose of trapcode's shine plugin.
i also fed the 4 widescreen plasma displays that were directly behind the award presenters/MCs. i was only moderately pleased with how the plasma stuff turned out, as i ran out of content prep time and had to prioritize the cueing for the content of the comparatively huge center screen. fortunately we might be using some of the same gear for the northwest district youth conference; that should help eliminate some guesswork. |
click the graphic for a short realplayer video that shows one of the "bumpers" or if you don't mind a 2-meg download, here's an indeo-codec quicktime video. |
