but wait! there's more! here's a jellyfish for you:

and another, more different jellyfish... mooning you! (MP4)

...on the road again... or... maybe... back with the paddle, again... winding south-west around Jones:

^ a sailboat and San Juan Island in the background ^

^ winding around the SW corner of Jones Island, with Yellow Island in the background ^

getting a bit closer to Yellow Island (above) - rounding the west point of Yellow (below)

a seagull pooped, a seagull pooped for you, and all the things you do... and it was all yellow.

some more harbor seals a bit SW of Yellow Island:

the caretakers cabin on the south side of the island (the only spot where landings are permitted)

after paddling around Yellow Island, i headed towards the Wasp Islands...

here's an odd shot of the big-ish Wasp Island - hooray for blinding sunlight!

going from the bigger Wasp to the smaller one south-ish of it:

i think this was Shaw Island in the background here... but it might have been Crane Island.

...should probably make up more captions... but i'm getting too sleepy...

pretty sure these shots are from Crane Island...

the opening below is Pole Pass - between Crane & Orcas Island:

i'm back in Deer Harbor, paddling back towards the marina!

home free! or, by this point, running to use el bano!

so yeah... great paddling trip with around and hour-and-a-half of hiking in the middle.
i was "out" from 9:30am~4:30pm. made for a very fun (yet tiring) day.
fortunately, they had coin-op showers there at Deer Harbor Marina, so i could wash away the
nappy sweat + sunscreen slime. after showering, i drove over to Eastsound to Vern's bar/
restaurant - their patio is right on the water - very purty! ate a burger & watched the sunset.
i would have really like to camp one more night, and paddle around somewhere on sunday...
but i had a couple of very important errands* to run on sunday, so i thought if i could get on
the 8pm ferry, i should probably head home.

*for a youth conference over in yakima - it's only 1.5 weeks away... EEEK!

anywho, thanks for paddling by,
-rick
