i went camping with some friends from work over labor day weekend.
we stayed at the north end campground of moran state park, on orcas island.
good times... especially dana's glowstick fishing tomfoolery.

our campsite was very close to cascade lake.
several of the happy campers went on a walk around the lake on saturday.

dana, ethan, & nikki found a tranquil spot to fish,
but parker & i kept walking along the lake, on the cascade loop trail.

parker sends his love...

a bridge was out, so we had to go around a lagoon that was connected to the lake.
once we got to the other end of the lake, we took the cascade falls trail...

...back on the trail again...

this was the beach-y park that was very close to the campsite.

on sunday, i went on a long kayaking trip off the north end of orcas island.
methinks i'll make a separate page for that junk...

sunday night we went up towards mt. constitution to hang out & watch the sunset.
some nice breath-takey-sorta views here at the viewpoint...

i got up early monday morning to kayak around mountain lake.
had the whole lake to myself while i was paddling around.
there were about 5-6 peeps walking or jogging around the trail,
but NO one else was on the water.

got to watch the sun come up over the trees

at the far end of the lake, lots of fog was pouring over the trees & running down along the water
